Spaciology: A Philosophy of Living Space and Emergence

Spaciology is my research-supported philosophy of space as strategic metaphor, developed through my doctoral dissertation. It offers a way to see where change is actually happening—or not happening—across three interconnected systems: the personal, the relational, and the larger field.

This is not abstract theory. Spaciology is a practical methodology for leaders, practitioners, and organizations navigating complexity, transition, and the gap between intention and impact.

What Spaciology Offers

  • A new way of seeing – Space as a lens for understanding where change lives and how it moves
  • A practical framework – The three-system approach applied to real decisions and real contexts
  • A grounded practice – Tools for turning insight into coherent, sustainable action

Spaciology helps you answer questions like:

  • Where is change actually possible right now?
  • What am I not seeing because of how I’m positioned?
  • How do I create conditions for emergence rather than forcing outcomes?
  • What does it mean to act ethically across personal, relational, and systemic levels?

How to Learn Spaciology

Spaciology Learning Commons

The Spaciology Learning Commons is the home for structured learning in Spaciology. Through courses, workshops, and the Spaciology Field Guide, you’ll learn to apply these principles in your own leadership, organization, or practice.

The Field Guide is a practical companion for turning Spaciology principles into practices—designed for leaders and practitioners who want to work with space, emergence, and the three-system approach in their daily work.

Custom Workshops & Training

I facilitate custom Spaciology workshops for organizations, leadership teams, cohorts, and individuals. These sessions are designed to meet you where you are and apply the methodology to your specific context.

Typical formats include:

  • Half-day or full-day workshops
  • Multi-session leadership cohorts
  • Board and executive team retreats
  • Train-the-trainer programs for organizational integration

Speaking & Live Events

I’m developing a series of live events and public talks on Spaciology, space as metaphor, and navigating complexity in a time of ecological and social crisis. If you’re interested in hosting or attending, reach out.
